ABOUT Laura
If you’ve ever felt stuck in patterns that seem impossible to shut off, overwhelmed by anxiety, weighed down by perfectionism, or frustrated that you “know better” but still can’t seem to change certain thoughts or behaviors, you’re not alone. I believe therapy should feel collaborative, supportive, and grounded in real life — not passive, one-sided, or overly clinical.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing telehealth therapy in West Virginia and South Carolina, I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, addiction, OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Personality Disorder (OCPD), and the stress that often comes with constantly feeling like you need to hold everything together. I have a special interest in working with high achievers and perfectionists who may appear successful on the outside while internally struggling with pressure, burnout, overthinking, or feeling emotionally exhausted.
I also enjoy supporting military members and military families navigating the unique stressors, transitions, and emotional demands that can come with military life. My approach is shaped not only by clinical training, but also by real-life understanding and a belief that meaningful therapy should feel practical and applicable outside of sessions.
Approach
In our work together, I’ll actively collaborate with you to better understand what may be keeping you stuck while helping you build tools that can create real, sustainable change. I often incorporate structured exercises, reflection, and between-session homework so the work we do in therapy can translate into your everyday life in meaningful ways.
My therapeutic approach integrates evidence-based modalities including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy.
I don’t believe healing means becoming perfect or never struggling again. My goal is to help you build a life that feels more manageable, meaningful, and aligned with who you are beyond the anxiety, pressure, or patterns you may be carrying.
